*crying because I haven’t posted an actual blog post in 3 whole months*
Hello everyone! I can't believe that it has been so long since I last wrote up something for en Rose but I promise I have a good excuse! The past three months have been a continuation of me figuring out my post-grad life, but I think I finally got it somewhat down… at least for now. I started a new job at the very end of August and picked up a part time job as well. Working 7 days a week has taught me many things but has also made it hard to focus on blogging. But today I realized how much I missed writing and also how much I enjoy it. So here I am, writing a very delayed post to recap a few of my favorite Fall 2018 trends.
You could have guessed it based on the “basic” girl stereotypes that I sometimes (okay often times) fit into, but fall is and always will be my favorite season of the year. Not only do I start listening to Christmas music in September to fully embrace the festive season, but I will break out the ankle boots and sweater coats the second there is a slight chill in the air. That being said, this fall trends were bold and obvious. Fall may have gone by too fast this year but thankfully the seasons trends feel pretty transitional into winter. From leopard print to that French girl plaid blazer I swore I would never wear, stores made it pretty easy to follow along on the seasons most sought after styles.
… The fashion industry’s favorite neutral. I have to say I haven’t been this excited about animal print being in style since I was probably 12 years old. One of my favorite ways to incorporate trends is subtly, which usually means through accessories. That way when I look back my fashion choices 10 years from now, I (hopefully) won’t completely regret every decision I ever made. Shoes felt like the perfect way to add a touch of leopard print without being over bearing.
If you’re always cold like I am, then this trend may have been one of your favorites this season too. There is nothing like finding a jacket that feels like a blanket. Need I say more?
Cue Alicia Silverstone’s iconic outfit in Clueless but slightly less yellow. From blazers to skirts, few things make a simple outfit feel more put together than a good checked print.
So maybe this isn’t exactly a fashion trend, but colder weather usually calls for a bit more pampering when it comes to skincare. Although I am all for finding good deals and comparable brands at better prices, I find that the tried and true beauty products go a long way. If there is ever a time to splurge a little on that one moisturizer that makes your skin glow like no other, fall and winter is the time.
