End of Summer Favorites
Top, Madewell / Shorts, Levi's / Sandals, Steve Madden / Sunnies, Zara
Summer is coming to an end *gasps* but that's okay because fall is around the corner. I'm sure I will regret anticipating fall by the time the snow storms hit but for now I am excited to embrace sweater weather. Before I fully jump into the season of apple cider and blanket scarves, I do feel like I should acknowledge some of my summertime favorites that never left my side this season. So here's to 6 of my staple pieces from this summer. What were some of yours?
Watch, JORD Watches / Top, Reformation / Earrings, Sezane / Necklace, London Manori
1. My JORD Watch
Would you believe me if I told you I've never owned a watch until now? S/o to JORD Watches for showing me what i’ve been missing. Their wooden watch styles are the perfect summer accessory and they go with everything. 2. Cat-eye sunnies
I spent the first half of the summer searching high and low for the perfect cat-eye sunglasses, and I finally found some from Zara! If you follow me on IG you're probably sick of me tagging them in all of my photos. "We get it! Your cat eye sunglasses are from Zara." It's fine.
3. Gold details
This is actually a favorite for all seasons because I believe that the best jewelry are the pieces that you can wear everyday and with anything. I am all for simple gold jewelry- it is both effortless and timeless.
4. Retro stripes
It is very rare that I will branch out beyond my black/white/denim and sometimes pink color palette, but when I do apparently I go all out. One of my favorite purchases from this summer is the Harvie top from Reformation. Even though it is a "rainbow stripe" top, I felt like the colors were muted enough to pass as retro-chic. Of course, the tie straps were an automatic win too.
Another all time favorite, but it really is true that denim goes with everything and will never go out of style. How could it when it is constantly being reinvented? But when in doubt, an old pair of Levi cut-offs will always be your best friend.
6. Vintage Bags
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't somewhat sad that the straw bag phenomenon has exploded the way it has. However, I have managed to find a few vintage straw and crochet bags that feel slightly more Birkin-esque than one bought from a chain store. You'd be surprised how many you could find at any vintage or thrift store in your area! At the end of the day, a bag is a bag- and as Jane taught us, a basket does in fact go with every outfit.
